Goodreads asked S.M. Pratt:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

S.M. Pratt The idea for The Stewardess's Diary came to me while traveling. I was re-reading Helen Fielding's Bridget Jones's Diary at the time and I liked how it read, the humor, the characters... So I thought I would create something presented in the same format (a diary) and include similar tropes (a woman who struggles with her love life, a good-looking boss who sleeps around, humor) but I also wanted to add a bit of mystery and include quite a few very hot sex scenes... So that's how the idea for the book came, but then I decided to turn it into "an episodic novel" so I could publish each "episode" or "self-contained part" separately, to get readers to follow along while I'm writing the next episode. I plan to expand the series into a three full-length novel books (or thirty self-contained episodes).
