I had known for some time that if I didn't tell this story, it would likely never be told. I also knew it was a great story because I had told it verbally to riveted audiences a number of times. However, the real inspiration came about two and half years ago when I was recovering from a car accident (hit by a drunk driver). That was the first time I realized I could draw parallels between the Pixar story and my more recent work in eastern philosophy. That really excited me, and the seed for this book was born.
