Goodreads asked K.A. Coleman:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

K.A. Coleman First of all, if you intend to publish, accept that you will get rejected. Don't let the rejection deter you though. There will always be plenty of people who tell you that you can't do something. Be the person who can and does. Second, believe in what you write. Holding On and Letting Go isn't my first book; it is, however, the first one I loved enough to publish. Write something that matters to you. It's not work if you love it.

I don't consider myself a writer or author. I consider myself to be someone who really enjoys writing. I refuse to put myself in the same category as my favorite authors, and it takes away some of the pressure.
