How do you get inspired to write?

Kathleen Kent Inspiration comes from so many places: overhearing a conversation, a piece of music, reading a news article. Unfortunately, I have to do the actual writing in an uncluttered space where there is absolute quiet. Even background music can distract me when I'm trying to commit to paper (or computer) a cohesive storyline. My ADD keeps me engaged and curious about the world around me, but when it comes to writing about it, I have to sequester myself in a sort of cave-like environment. No writing in noisy cafes for me!
