Goodreads asked D.A. Barr:

How do you get inspired to write?

D.A. Barr Initially I had no intention of writing a novel. I was living in the high country of central Arizona, and had recently moved into a small trailer located along the banks of the Verde River. I don't watch TV, and had no internet access for several weeks. After work I started to write down ideas that were running through my head at the time; what-ifs and the resulting answers. Before I knew it, I had the outline of a story. Within six weeks, I had a three-hundred plus page rough draft. I found the whole process so enjoyable that I wanted to continue, and to share my story with others. I still do.
