“Well this is me without my prozac, and this is me just shy of nicotine, and mother fuckers, it’s my second time to fail anger management class.”

“Dear Angry Older People, over 21-ish, anyone who considers themselves an adult, still bitter: Next time you're wondering what wrong with kids today, you might wanna check the examples you've been giving us to work with. Because if you ever want to make sense of us, you’ve got to make sense to us, without telling us you’re too old to walk that far. You’ve got to try to understand why we like looking like rag dolls, why we like looking like the way we feel, and why we keep our senses floored when it’s you behind the wheel. And if you ever really do want to understand why we seem so angry, well for one, you told us we could be anything we wanted to be, but right now, we’re a little busy dodging bombs.”

“She's an old lady and she's ill. You just hold your head high and be a gentleman. Whatever she says to you, it's your job not to let her make you mad.”

“I’ve seen fish hooked who keep more patience in their worst gill than some of you have in your best moods. If you were a sandwich at McDonalds, they’d call you the McGrump.”

“When I was a child, I thought like a child.
When I became adult, I seek a deeper understanding of life.”
― Think Great: Be Great!

“Older people sometimes talk about the good old days when life was better. In fact, they talk nostalgically about their own youth that was irretrievably gone. The past century has made enormous progress in all fields. The standard of living, work environment, health care quality and mobility, and the availability of cultural programs, recreational activities and information – all that clearly speaks in favor of nowadays.”

“Do not speak harshly to a grown-up man. He is old enough to be your father.”

“Sometimes, it is kindest to help senior folk pass on as peacefully and well as possible rather than pushing them to stay. In other situations, the last few years of their lives earn more advancement on the spiritual path than several lifetimes put together.”

“[The Gaze of an Invisible Stranger]
In western Europe and north America
In the cities of cruelty, racism, freedom & democracy,
Cities of exile and alienation,
You see many young people
Who’d rather die than greet a stranger,
You observe how they master the art of ignoring
And not acknowledging the humanity of anyone
Who is not their height and weight
Whose features, skin color, and eyes are different than theirs…
In return, you observe cities filled with older people
Who delight at a nod or greeting from any stranger
Who are hungry for the slightest kind human touch
From any by passerby…
Making you, the Invisible Stranger, wonder:
Did these same elderly folks raise the young ones?
Are they merely inheriting a world of their creation?
Do the young ones realize
The isolation, loneliness, and desolation awaiting them tomorrow?
