I'm looking for a good collection of English or British fairy tales. Searching through Amazon, I found many such books but most of them appear to be directed at young readers. The only exception seems to be Katharine M. Briggs' "British Folk Tales and Legends: A Sampler".
Can someone please recommend this book or offer another one instead? The closer to the original version of the tales, the better. Annotations are a major plus. Thank you!...more

Jack Zipes is a wonderful folklorist, and translator. I have one of his translations of the Complete Tales of the Brothers' Grimm and really liked it.
