La conclusione da tirare da tutto questo è che il mondo dell'editoria è una realtà in continua ebollizione. Un vero e proprio magma incandescente che mi ricorda il piombo fondente della linotype e il calore che trasmetteva quella riga di piombo appena uscita dalla sua fornace. Conservo ancora gelosamente una riga di piombo uscita da una linotype del "Times" di Londra con sopra il mio nome e la data della visita che facemmo al giornale durante un corso organizzato dalla BBC circa quaranta anni fa. Piombo bollente allora, piombo freddo museale oggi.”
