“Στις μέρες μας τα περισσότερα εκπαιδευτικά προγράμματα (συχνά κάτω από την πίεση επιτροπών πιστοποίησης ή ασφαλιστικών εταιρειών) προσφέρουν εκπαίδευση μόνο σε βραχείες «εμπειρικά υποστηριζόμενες» ψυχοθεραπείες, οι οποίες συνίστανται σε εξαιρετικά συγκεκριμένες τεχνικές που απευθύνονται σε εξειδικευμένες διαγνωστικές κατηγορίες όπως η κατάθλιψη, η διαταραχή πρόσληψης τροφής, οι κρίσεις πανικού, η διπολική διαταραχή, οι εθισμοί ή συγκεκριμένες φοβίες.
