"Currently reading this for work and Braden’s real time perspectives of the Civil Rights Movement are refreshing and highly informative. I love the reference to symbolic versus concrete power and how the movement from the Montgomery bus boycotts up to the passage of the Voting Rights Act for for symbolic power against Jim Crow" — Oct 31, 2024 07:55AM

"Ch.5&6 are good references for explaining why the BBP is a myth. The majority of black people are not working class because we spend our money fast. The majority of black people—the working class—are working class because we have to constantly sell our labor power in exchange for a means of subsistence. The only people who can accumulate labor (capital) are the people we constantly sell our labor to, the capitalists." — Oct 13, 2024 05:38AM
