The main story arc covers the Strawhats leaving Vivi behind. Nico Robin stows away on the Merry Go and asks to join the crew. Luffy agrees to this, and Robin convinces everyone else with her wiles. A galleon falls out of the sky. Luffy, Zolo, and Sanji explore the wreckage and find a strange map.

We have a bit of a problem, though, now. The Log Pose is pointing at the sky. Nami initially believes the Log Pose broke. Robin reminds Nami of the first rule of the Grand Line; never doubt the Log Pose. A boat is not capable of three-dimensional travel. How are the Strawhats going to get to Skypiea? So Luffy wants to go to the sky, but the Strawhats have the same issue. Robin demonstrates her skills as an Archaeologist. She figures out the identity of the Galleon by putting a skull together.

The Strawhats meet a group of salvagers. The Merry Go is getting worse for wear. Luffy needs to find a Carpenter soon, but that won't be for a while. The Salvage King, Masira, is the leader of the salvage crew. Masira uses his powerful breath to fill the shipwreck with air and allow it to lift off the seafloor. The Strawhats and the salvagers both meet with a giant monster. As a parting gift, Robin steals their Eternal Pose to Jaya.

The Strawhats find a place named Mock Town. This place is a pirate haven and seems to be completely lawless. Luffy, Zolo, and Nami are off to gather information, but no one believes in the Sky Island and ridicules them for believing in such a thing. Bellamy the Hyena is head of the pirates around here, and he wants to make Luffy his lackey.

Luffy is unaware of the new price on his head. He always mentions the 30 Million Berries, but now it's up to 100 Million Berries, and Zolo is wanted, as well. Luffy gets into a situation with other pirates but refuses to fight them.

We meet a large vulgar man with black hair, but he didn't get an intro yet, so we don't know his name. We meet an orangutan. He uses his voice to damage the Merry Go, and Bellamy has a reason to be interested in Mont Blanc Cricket. We haven't met him yet, though. He's just a strange man who lives on Jaya.

So that's the end of Volume 24. A lot of great world-building went on in this volume. See you in the next one. ...more "
