Texts as testimonies arise out of (are written, produced and shaped within and by) particular
I’m not sure what the Kindle app does when a reader highlight a portion of text became as you can see this is an incomplete thought: Here is the whole thought that I highlighted:
“Texts as testimonies arise out of (are written, produced and shaped within and by) particular and diverse communities. They reflect the cultures, concerns, and experiences of those communities, which may or may not coincide with the culture, interests and challenges of other ancient and contemporary communities. Texts are used in community, and in reading them and interpreting them, they become a part of that larger community not bound by space and time. To texts are attributed authority within communities, by communities, and transcending communities through a F/ force larger than human communities. Many of the New Testament documents are epistles, and many of them refer to ‘we’ and ‘you [all],’ indicating a consciousness of community and the testimonies that arise or are shared within them that form a basis of knowing and unknowing.”
