Or, hear me out: community + mimesis. I completely agree that some words, speech patterns, expressions, etc., can become weapons in a cultish way. But at the same time, language in its use in a community (be it friends, work, school, online, wtv) is also a code that people agree upon (loosely or not) to communicate. If community and communication is a major part of our existence, words will have a big part of our lives. And we will create new words or change the meaning of existing ones to express and name a reality we experience. Then, humanity will do its thing and give it a positive or negative impact, or both. The author bring some nuance to this passage and some other things she said before the quote I pulled out, which brought me back from my argumentative space. I wonder if I'll be somewhat cautious throughout this read (hopefully not, tho I also studied some of the fields related to what she says she'll be talking about, so uh-oh)
