এই সব কথা রুপাকে বলার কোনো অর্থ হয় না. বরং কোনো-কোনো দিন তরঙ্গিনী স্টোর থেকে টেলিফোন করে বলি - রুপা, তুমি কি এক্ষুনি নীল রঙের একটা সারি পরে তোমাদের ছাদে উঠে কার্নিশ ধরে নিচের দিকে তাকাবে? তোমাকে খুব দেখতে ইচ্ছা করছে। একটুখানি দাড়াও। আমি তোমাদের বাসার সামনের রাস্তা দিয়ে হেটে চলে যাব.
আমি জানি রুপা আমার কথা বিশাস করে না, তবুও যত্ন করে সারি পরে. চুল বাধে। চোখে কাজলের ছোয়া লাগিয়ে কার্নিশ ধরে দাড়ায়। সে অপেক্ষা করে. আমি কখনো যাই না.
