This is stupid. Capablanca explained exactly why he advocated studying endgames, and it had nothing to do with availability of material.

Capablanca's advice worked more for Capablanca than others.

There's a great debate out there about how useful endgames are, and some think Class C or Class A players is when stuff outside of the basics…

Silman's book on endgames is probably one of the more interesting of giving people enough endgame material at the right time, and at the right level for people.
