"My love for this book is immense and I want to shout out to the world about it. 🥺
Also very interesting bit of how calico came from Calicut. My understanding was Kozhikode became Calicut cuz the invaders(Portugese was it?) called it so. So the origin of the word in English could be not direct? Hmm gotta find out. Also interesting how tufan & tarjama came from Arabic. Didn't guess chitti was Marathi either." — Nov 02, 2022 12:42PM

“Even if we are tempted to focus on the events that seem most significant in our lives overall, each major event wouldn't happen without the smaller moments leading up to it.”

“Did everything reinvent itself over time? It was beginning to seem like every person, every place, carried an untold story with long-buried truths resting just beneath the surface.”
