Sissy Goff
“When she starts to escalate, keep your voice level. Do your own breathing. Don’t panic. She really will be okay. She may get angry with you in the process, especially if you’ve been her primary coping skill up until this point. She may want to lure you into an argument so that she can have an emotional release. If exploding at you is the coping skill she uses most often at home, it’s one that will continue into adulthood and into her adult relationships, such as her marriage, friendships, and workplace relationships. Teach her healthy coping skills instead. Model them yourself. Pray persistently. Prompt her to practice her skills. She can do this. And you can, too, especially if you both stay calm and connected.”
Sissy Goff, Raising Worry-Free Girls: Helping Your Daughter Feel Braver, Stronger, and Smarter in an Anxious World

Corrie ten Boom
“There are no “ifs” in God’s kingdom. I could hear her soft voice saying it. His timing is perfect. His will is our hiding place. Lord Jesus, keep me in Your will! Don’t let me go mad by poking about outside it.”
Corrie ten Boom, The Hiding Place

“Memorize and meditate on Proverbs 11:14 (ESV): “Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.” •Make a list of three Christlike mamas whom you could seek out for help and guidance. •Unfollow accounts that glorify and glamorize snark, hopelessness, or abdication of responsibility in motherhood.”
Abbie Halberstadt, M Is for Mama: A Rebellion Against Mediocre Motherhood

Sissy Goff
“We truly are fearfully and wonderfully made. But sometimes our brains operate on false alarms.”
Sissy Goff, Raising Worry-Free Girls: Helping Your Daughter Feel Braver, Stronger, and Smarter in an Anxious World

Jamie Erickson
“Just like a piece of sand produces a pearl, the wild in your child can be the start of something great if it’s given time and attention.”
Jamie Erickson, Homeschool Bravely: How to Squash Doubt, Trust God, and Teach Your Child with Confidence
