those who justify themselves do not convince,
Been thinking about this a lot as I've been reading other spiritual teachers. Trying to build a credibility foundation can sometimes mask the introspective voice that people like Watts want to surface in their readers. Rather than evaluate the message you evaluate the foundation. The flipside though can also be dangerous, as teachers leverage an emotional state to sell ungrounded dogma to their followers.
