Whatever emerges from the unconscious, whether it is an idea, image or an illusion, creates a psychic reality.
I find it useful to reflect on how these dream symbols and situations feelboth during the dream and in the waking world. Things remembered from dreams can be expanded upon throughout the following days and questions can be posed prior to entering into dream states to set intentions for further exploration of symbols.
