If the longing is for the soul’s deep thirst to be satisfied, then theology, cultural analysis, or revived church community is not enough. We need God Himself. We need to rediscover how to know Him.
“I’ve been gifted with a life that in whatever state it may continue is full of God’s love. I am never alone. I’ve found what I was made for, to gaze into the God of beauty and to find Him gazing back at me with His eyes of knowing love. To receive this life as sacred.”

“When we honestly ask ourselves which persons in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving much advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief or bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is the friend who cares. 46”

“What I love most about my job as a therapist is helping my clients name the good that lies within them that they often cannot see: “I see a loving heart.” “I don’t see someone selfish. I see someone who is in pain.” “I see someone who’s working overtime to do her part.” Naming buried goodness unlocks healing and catalyzes God-given potential.”

“While some may wish for hardship to pass them by, it is in hardship that we push ourselves. If a seed remained a seed, it would produce nothing. It is only by rupturing itself from the inside, through pushing itself through rock and soil toward the light, weathering storms and drought, that it finds its true purpose. And so, the same shall be with you.”

“Name. Frame. Brave.” It’s a process of noticing thoughts and feelings, reflecting on them, and then translating that work into action.”
