She was beat and abused every day for being black. The neglect and hate was so constant she began to hate herself more and more. She never stepped out of line but any minor incident infuriated Sister Hildegard

Ika grew up in Germany right after WWII with her white family for the first couple years of her life until she was sent to a boarding school “for her own good” where they abused her physically and mentally leading her to believe she was truly worthless because of the color of her skin. She had no reason not to believe them because she was the only black kid around and never had another black role model

TW: Rassismus
