Ika grew up in Germany right after WWII with her white family for the first couple years of her life until she was sent to a boarding school “for her own good” where they abused her physically and mentally leading her to believe she was truly worthless because of the color of her skin. She had no reason not to believe them because she was the only black kid around and never had another black role model
