Reread the opus 18 quartets, written early in Beethoven’s career. I am of the opinion that as a set these are already as formidable as the greatest chamber works of Haydn and Mozart. Particular standouts this time through: I:1, I:2, IV:1, IV:4, VI:2, and VI:4. The second movement of 1 (I:2) remains the pinnacle for me. Next up are the Razumovskys.

El I del segundo cuarteto en su exposición desarrolla los temas de una manera super interesante.
El II tiene una parte contrapuntística entre cello y violín acompañado armónicamente por vn 2 y viola, que demuestra el principio de background y foreground (En este pasaje, el cello llega al la de arriba en clave de sol, wow.)
El III fue muy rápido y me perdía a veces.

Wow, de verdad qué interesante el primer cuarteto: Cómo varía los colores (hay una parte donde cambia entre el registro alto del violín y el bajo de la viola); esos pasajes de escalas rápidas y los saltos de octavas en staccato. Para ser su primero de verdad que conocía muy bien las técnicas que tenía disponibles.
