Status Updates From Above All (Jasper Swinton, #1)

Really don't understand how this got so many 4 and 5 stars.

I'm really not feeling this one. Jasper is obnoxious and Brian isn't much better. I do like Micheal, but I do wonder what a plastic surgeon is doing with enough fiber casts for two broken legs in his clinic.

Still don't see how he got to prostitute from a begrudging hand job. Brian made it clear he wouldn't do anything else,

Not buying the shower scene even supposing he had the right waterproof casts on, no lawn chair fits safely into a bath, and will poor Brian ever get some pain relief. The amount of times his broken legs have hit the floor I'm surprised he is still conscious.

Out Of Comfort challenge read.

Since I love all things military-themed & slightly neurotic characters I'm going to assume this was chosen because it's a P2P ex-SGA fanfic...and since I absolutely hate paying for things that used to be free (plus I'm not fond of the P2P trend as a whole), it WILL be a challenge.

Good thing I ADORE fanfic, though. And it's been a LONG while since I read anything Stargate adjacent!

argh. these boys are stupid. i say it with frustration. and with love.

i dunno. jasper's evil plans aren't that creative enough for me but he really has a sharp, witty tongue. the characters aren't that fleshed out yet, imo, but surely (hopefully) it gets better as i delve deeper. one thing's for sure though, there is indeed UST and i am positive barney helped with that a lot.

I am really enjoying this. :-)

OMG!! Just got to the part where Jasper is thinking of deep-throating a carrot - absolute hysterics!!

Such a funny book...laugh out loud in places...Jasper, you kill me!!

ok, a little past the halfway mark and I can't believe that Jasper's friends knew where Brian was and never said anything while he searched for him every night. with friends like that, who needs enemies?

Well, I thought I'd take a look at other people's reviews, and was astonished to read about the Fanfic start to these characters, and how no mention of that has been made in the book (surprise, surprise), so that has unfortunately taken some of the gloss off the story for me, even though it is really funny. Hope I've got this right.

God, this book is so funny!! I love it.

I really don't know what to make of Jasper and Brian, but I like how their friendship is slowly developing.

Okay, I had plans today, but then this book happened. How am I enjoying it this much?

6% in and already I'm enjoying the tone tremendously.

Brian: “I really do, but - well, I’ve never done it before with a guy. Not really." Jasper: "I’m a genius and you’re reasonably intelligent,” Jasper said, moving in for another kiss. “We’ll figure it out.” oh Jasper you are killing me! lol

I am loving Jasper.
