Andre
Andre is finished
Hm, having it ending like that, with bitterness and the old Andreas alone in a dark room is more brave than I would have expected from this book.

This whole thing with Angela and her baby (it was probably rape) is much better handled when so many other things here. The comic has this constant up and down when it comes to things like that.

Andreas is in the shoe-test commando? Weren't they established in 1940? This here plays in 1937. The dialogues were already odd at first, but this could be downright historical revisionism.

Wait a second... the guard, captain... whatever, the guy just told the inmates that he would make "Muselmänner" out of them. But the comic says that this is KZ Sachsenhausen in 1937, was the term even in use for malnourished prisoners close to death at the time?

I am not questioning that many men were tortured and intimidated, but was explicit language like this actually used? I really wonder, now this is a story where I really ask myself whether anything like this ever happened.

And of course they only show the signs that speak of the racism and unworthiness of lives.
Not those that show the part of the propaganda, that convinced Germans that they are defending themselves.

Apart from the fact that I wonder whether gays back then in the 1930s already referred to themselves as homosexuals and homos, I also noticed that this group here... well, they all have extremely similar faces, as if the artist could not draw any others.

OK; good for them to include the fight of Trollmann vs. Witt in this comic, but the way Trollmann is drawn here (with the big lips and the way too curly hair) you would think he is an African. Which is weird, because he obviously did not look this way:

Plus, they left out that he did get the title due to the riot, for a few days.

This was pretty funny in places, like when Angela told Andreas basically "I want that pussy over there so you have to screw the Nazi who won't leave her alone." Also Andreas looks pretty worked out for someone who is a graphics designer. And maybe there are a few too many yellow heads here. However the reaction of the passengers to the gay joke is refreshingly realistic, after all the crap from Marvel.

What a struggle: the bi part of myself is trying not to cry and the historical part is analyzing
