I'm very determined to get this one "out of the way" today. I believe there is something like a reader's block: when you read one book that really isn't as great as you expected, and you don't actually want to read on but for that tiny spark of hope that a change might still come, it drains the reading speed out of all you're reading.

The sex scenes feel like bits from text-based online rpgs, and the action scenes just don't work very well. At least neither is too lengthy... also, punctuation can save lives - and I really hate it when neither author, nor editor can be bothered to pay attention.

My edition is only 313 pages long, so this is the last third of the book. And suddenly there's magic now. I'm not sure how I like that - it seems too sudden, and too late.

The story isn't exactly picking up pace, the love interest seems to be there mainly for the sake of getting some steampunkish cogs, wheels and gagets in, and I don't yet see the point of all the side-storylines...

For me, this could use a little less lovestory and a little more speed of progress on the actual storyline instead. I especially don't need to hear about every romantic moment from her AND his pov.

Getting used to the heroine, and really curious about the bigger story here.

Not love at first line, this one, but lets see. Maybe it's just reading in German again after quite some purely "English" weeks ^^'

"Zwischendurch redeten sie und sponnen durch die Worte und die Berührungen einen Kokon, in dem nur sie beide existierten, abgehoben von Zeit und Raum." Diese Beschreibung ist die für mich schönste und treffendste Beschreibung junger, inniger und ehrlicher Liebe, die ich bisher gelesen habe, und zudem auch noch wortwörtlich nachempfinden kann. Hut ab, Frau Autorin!
