Good review of the Turkish getup this morning. I didn’t get as much out of the muscle up section because I don’t do them, but I tried. Into Burpees which he teaches to bow and snap rather than push-up according to page 40.

I learned how to pistol squat better, and that I can’t even do a push up with my hands turned backwards, which is supposed to be indicative of a problem with my pushing mechanics. He says things are necessary that take years to master, and that there is transference but it’s not my discipline so I can’t do it all.

Onto a whole chapter about the pistol squat. I will figure out how I can use this to clean my pistol squat up and maybe discover something about how my body naturally moves that can be improved

I’m using this book to help me think about how to improve my Jerk. So far I’ve found one thing I’m pretty sure will help and he’s directly suggesting another, push-ups...that is a little hard for me to get my head around so I’ll have to wait to read why he thinks so. Not too long, while it’s a textbook, margins are wide and there are lots of pictures.
