so true. a few years ago I was anxious that I would suffer anaphylactic shock bc of food I ate (I suffered anaphylactic shock more than once bc of food so it was a legit fear?) so I tended to avoid food that made me feel it could happen again even tho I knew it was safe to eat

This rigid classification also perpetuated the false assumption of mind-body dualism (i.e. belief that mind and body are entirely separate entities when they are inherently and inextricably interconnected) and the idea that any medically unexplained symptoms are psychogenic or ‘all in your head.’

Exactly what I like to read at the beginning of these book:
Although I do know what it is like to be consumed by these fears, I also know what it is like to feel better.
