IF ONLY ARAB PALESTINIANS HAD AGREED TO THE UN PARTITION?! There shouldn’t have been a discussion in the first place! Palestine was not free land to be offered up to others! It is a country with hundreds of years of people and history that was not up for grabs. Oh this author has pissed me off

No. Jewish settlers did not have as much right to Palestine as Arab people did already living there. Indigenous populations will always have more right to a land than those that invade and colonize them.

Jordan, Egypt, Syria, and Iraq also all had their own territorial ambitions in Palestine that were often in competition with the ambitions of the other Arab states. This disunity and lack of a single overriding set of war aims would cause dissent among the Arab armies and would prevent them from acting as a single unified force, something that Israel would successfully exploit.
