Status Updates From Find Me (The Donovan Family...

She needed to be with Mac. To be sure he was all right. Mia pulled her gently away from the ambulance. "We'll drive you. Let's go." Franny sat on the sidewalk, watching. Lizzy couldn't believe she'd forgotten about her dog. "Wait. I can't leave Franny." She looked from her dog to the ambulance. Stay here with Franny? Go with Mac?

The hollowness inside her chest ached. She'd had a family like this once, too. Until she'd destroyed it. Her foot throbbed in time with her pounding heart. "I can't do this, Mac. I can't stay here. I'd never forgive myself if another person died protecting me." She stood and hobbled to the window, studying the quiet street. "I have to leave. Right now."

"Your room?" she whispered. "Help me to bed? In front of your mother?"

"What? You think she doesn't know her sons have sex?" The twitch of his lips made her shove his arm off her shoulder.

"You think it's funny? How am I supposed to face her in the morning?"

"Would you rather I interrogate you about the suspect?"
"Forget the r.. radio. And s... screw you." All she wanted was to grab Franny and bolt out of the car. If she could stop shaking long enough to actually run.

"Already did. Best sex ever. We can talk about that, if you like."
She flushed with pleasure, which made her even angrier. "F#!k you, Agent Donovan."

Third time today these 2strangers had unprotected sex and neither has said one word to the other about birth control, disease etc. She at least "thought" to herself it's a good thing she was on the pill....

He stared down at her and she tried to slide off him. But his arms tightened around her. "Don't," he murmured. "Let me hold you."
She swallowed, her gaze sliding away from his. What was she supposed to say to him? They'd just had sex. Twice. She wanted to do it again. And she didn't even know his name.

Like the story but dang that scene of her finding Mac on the shore and dragging him inside, stripping him etc. was way too detailed and just dragged on.

"You're okay. You're inside. You're safe, but I need to undress you. Could you help me get your pants off?"
"Pants off," he mumbled. "Want her pants off."
"Not my pants." Her mouth curved. Typical guy. She tugged again, her knuckles slipping on his cold, slippery skin . "Your pants. Come on. Isn't this what every man dreams of? A woman tearing his clothes off?"

Donovan. Get your mind on the job. The woman was a witness to the murder of one of his fellow agents. A man he'd known for several years. She might hold the key to capturing Kelly's killer. And he was watching the sway of her ass from across the room. Maybe his brothers were right. Maybe he did spend too much time working.
