Status Updates From Bonk: The Curious Coupling ...

This is an interesting science book but Mary’s witty footnotes get so tedious. I keep thinking, “You made me stop what I was reading—AGAIN—because you thought you were very funny.” It’s less irritating when she provides important context and makes a joke while doing so, but when she does it JUST to make a joke, or goes on much longer than necessary so that she can make a joke, it’s obnoxious.

Mary Roach’s writing style is one of my favorites - I love a popular science writer who includes their side thoughts in parentheses in the text.

Bloomington and the Kinsey Institute got discussed a lot during the first chapter. Definitely understand the controversy surrounding that building’s history now!
