Typo why is "Shawafas" capitalized here when no where else so far?

I don't understand why this is written "Maghrebi's" in order to, I believe, indicate multiple Maghrebis. I think the author has used "Maghrebis" previously in this book, but I might be wrong.

I feel like "Because it depended on timing..." shouldn't be its own sentence, particularly bc it starts w/ "because." There isn't much if any significance to this one sentence particularly due to how it's worded, so it starting w/ "because" just makes it stand out more
