So far I’m finding this book obnoxious and stupid, but I’m doing my best to grow my emotional intelligence so I shall persevere for now.

Part 3 on the Desire for Intimacy was good! In relationships, navigating the conflict that naturally crops up in relationships strengthens it. Being able to navigate conflict and stay emotionally regulated facilitates us growing in our knowing and love for our partner. Also implementing separateness is healthy!

In part 3, “A Desire for Intimacy.” Reading this currently with a lens for how Stringer’s ideas on marriage, intimacy, and the obstacles that get in the way of intimacy map onto my relationship with God. I have an inkling this maps onto friendship as well. Keep me honest and ask me about it!
