jeanne thornton’s teenagers are so hilarious and alive

I think I just read my favourite story in this collection, "Skeleton." About a teen girl who falls in love with the anatomical skeleton her ex-boyfriend gives her. So weird. I love it.

Her writing is so brilliant! "They had a wide Oriental rug, all beige and purple and gold, its fibers an ideal consistency between solid and liquid, and it would ooze up around the bare toes that walked across it like ten tiny, formal hugs."

This book is so weird, I love it.

"The longer she looked, the fainter her smile got, until finally it went out, a dot of candle fire drowning in undrained wax"

"The world was a really great place, really, if you understood why everything happened the way it did, like God couldd probably. "

Dedication reads "Dedication is overrated." Haha.

This is real good and I'm mad my melatonin kicked in and I have to sleep before I can finish it

So glad this book is finally getting a physical release as I've been wanting to read it for *years* but I have a devil of a time reading ebooks. Going to tuck into this tonight!
