Status Updates From Queering Him

[pre-ARC read note] Like lots of us, I first encountered this author thanks to her viral Hot Chef moment on Threads this summer, and was intrigued by her forthcoming book. I’ve been a little afraid to read this because I admire how much of oneself it takes to put a book out into the world, and based on the existing reviews, I suspect I will hate it.

I’m going to come back to this one. I’ll be honest it’s pretty deeply frustrating to have a 2026 *queer* release still referencing HP (in ways I don’t feel add to the story in any real way). It’s tiring to keep seeing this IP being pushed by our own community.

Ok so far, I kinda have a weird feeling about this book because apart from Ellie and Marco and Av’s dad (and maybe Karly, although she seems a bit performative) none of the characters actually seem to be nice people??
