Holy crap! Main story finished, I only have the bonus chapters left. I can’t believe this months long journey is about to end!

About 190 chapters ago, Zhao Ran revealed that Yu An will have to become strong enough to kill him. And now, finally, the time for the ultimate battle to death between the two lovers arrives. The final metamorphosis. I am not ready 😭

My new favourite insult: “did your mother flush the baby down the toilet and raise the placenta?!” 😭🤣

Omfg I just checked the chapter names and THE metamorphosis is only six chapters away??? The final boss fight that everything has been subtly building up to? I am not ready 😭

Ahh I love seeing all of Zhao Ran’s various siblings. It’s funny how he’s both the youngest but also the strongest, so theres a weird mix of babying and respect going on

Welp I did end up chatting with my coworker the entire train ride. Including the TWO HOUR DELAY. “Luckily” she stayed in Prague so now I have three ish hours to get some reading in, wooo. Maybe even more if the insane thunderstorms all around cause more delays! Or something else happens like in the morning. I’m way past caring tho, my Kindle is fully charged.

I’m gonna spend at least five hours on the train going to Prague and back tomorrow for a work trip.

Will I…
a) read at least 10% of this
b) spend the entire time chatting with my coworker
c) sleep because I gotta get up at 4:30

Volume 5 started, woo! I loved the cruise ship arc so much… last year my hyperfixation was shipwrecks and various marine disasters xD

The craziest thing is that if you described the plot of this book to me I would NOT be interested in reading this. But I am absolutely loving it!

The fact that Zhao Ran’s nipple piercings with the chain connecting them are visible through his shirt has got me going feral

Dangers of time travel: you might make a grotesque monster made out of arms fall in love with you, causing it to find you in the past (but it's not you, it's younger you), thus making it doubt whether it found the correct person plus making your (possessive and jealous) past self extremely frustrated because their boyfriend is in love with their future self (you). And you might have to pretend you are your own son.

I looooove how Zhao Ran is all about the sun, his powers are shining and golden, his symbol is a sun, he radiates warmth, his real form is round like the sun... but he also can't stand real sunlight because it literally drains him of life, strength and even colour. He is a little fake sun of the polar night.

Volume 4! I really locked in these past few days. This novel is soooo goooooood.

Once again I'm surprised at the depth of this silly little story, no plot holes in sight. Like how Zhao Ran keeps disciplining Yu An and trying to teach him to be moral and human (because Yu An is lowkey a sociopath). Why would a monster care? Because if everything goes right, Zhao Ran will eventually come under Yu An's control and he doesn't want to become a nuke in a psychopath's hands, so he tries to prevent it.
