Not bad by any stretch, but there's no real conflict driving the plot forward.

Things are happening, which is good, but the love interest is a sort of demigod with "cerulean eyes" and "chiselled cheekbones." A bit bored with underwear-model types...

The writing is sturdy but nothing's happened yet. A lot of purposeless minutiae - does the protagonist's dog relieving itself on the lawn service the plot somehow?

I am honestly considering not finishing this book. Plot is okay, but too many details. I do not need to know every time the dog does his business. This is a novel not a daily journal. Also the lack of editing. UGH! "The taste of the juice was most definitely than the taste of the coffee." Most definitely WHAT? Just an example. The plot has such possibilites.
