I would have preferred an ominous, foreboding end. This one felt a little abrupt and almost detached from the story, but I did like the concept.

I hate that. It just feels like lazy writing. Tell this horrible thing, bc otherwise I just assume you were worried nothing you would right could live up to the horror implied

I have seen the word penumbra used twice in my life, and in both cases it was by this author.

I suppose if I continue reading her works, it'll eventually become a common word in my vocabulary.
