“I prayed for lightning to strike Mrs. Dunstable and nothing happened. I prayed for the whiteboard to fall on her and still jack all.” Charlie sniggered. “Do you have to clock like…loyalty points on prayers?”

“Yeah,” he said. “Fifty Hail Marys gets you a low-level plague. Two hundred gets you a smiting. If you get fifty Lord’s Prayers, you can have yourself a biblical apocethary.”

“Apocalypse.”

“Whatever."

"If you really like this boy, try just weighing him up a bit first.” Adam winced. “Or is it a bit late for that?”

“Yeah,” he mumbled. “I kind of…shoved him.”

“Ouch.”

“Into a shed.”

Lily burst out laughing. “Sorry, sorry, but—you pushed him into a shed!” Lily cackled. “Oh, Adam! Oh, you’re priceless. Sorry. No, I will stop—okay, in a minute.” She descended into another fit of giggles. Adam rolled his eyes.

Kinda enjoying this but I'm at chapter six and I'm already over the suspense. I get it, the whole gist of the story is these secrets but do we have to talk them to death??? I've read enough "no body knows" and "I can't tell" now. At this point I kinda don' t even care what secrets are anymore.
