Whether you're a hungry survivor scavenging the wasteland or simply and adventurous eater, you might want to keep an eye out for these unusual canned foods to keep things interesting:

If collecting wood outdoors, look for hardwoods (maple, oak, beech, etc.) rather than softwoods (pine, fir, cedar, spruce). Softwoods tend to burn faster and smokier than hardwoods, and they will give food a rotten flavor.

WATER TO AVOID
Signs that the water is undrinkable:
- Stagnant (unmoving) water
- Foul smell
- No plant life
- Bubbles, foam, slime
- Milky color
- Undead body parts

Always be aware of the common signs of dehydration, including increased thirst, dry mouth, headache, fatigue, dizziness, and infrequent, bright yellow urine. Once you begin to experience these, it's time to replenish your fluids.


Well, one would think you'd want to replenish BEFORE the bright yellow urine, (or dark yellow, as bright usually means an overabundance of vitamin C) surely???
