Also, really discouraged by the reality of what the American CCM scene is like behind the scenes. The more I read the more amazed I am that Beeching remains a Christian, she experienced a really dark side of it all.

This is my second time reading through this incredibly raw and open memoir. It's simply written and accessible, and Beeching does an amazing job outlining her very human journey from childhood to middle age as she tackles this huge conversation of how queer individuals have been treated by the church. Her faith shines throughout, and she doesn't pull punches. I think I've already cried once.
