I feel bad about not enjoying this because I was excited about the story after I read its sibling book The Assassin's Convenient Wife by Ruby Dixon, but unfortunately this wasn't good. At this point I barely even judge characters for warming up to the big aliens so quickly, but the whole book was dull. The plot, the romance, the characters, the spice and even the writing style. I was bored throughout the whole story.

Finally, they started to get closer to their mission. Not going to lie, up until now it’s been loads of descriptions and inner-monologues, endless boring and repetitive dialogues and spice. Unfortunately I am not connected to the story or the characters. I’ve been bored throughout the whole book. And I hate to say this but the writing style is also weak in the sense that it’s very basic.

It’s a lot of talking between the characters. I’m craving some action or something to happen. It’s also filled with explanations about aliens and other planets, which is, of course, necessary but very repetitive as we already know these info from the inner-monologues, where things were explained multiple times, and now they are explained again in the dialogues. This book is very heavy in telling and not showing

Unfortunately this is not only descriptive, as in pages of inner monologues, but also quite repetitive. The same thing is repeated over and over again on the very same page and the next and the next one. And it seems to have loads of “She smiled”, “She snorted”, “He blew”, “He glanced”. I don’t mean to be rude, but to me the writing feels very basic.

I’m not a big fan of the writing. It’s very abrupt and jumpy. Not in the sense that it jumps between events, rather it feels unnatural. It’s not easy flowing. Since I read the sibling of this book, The Assassin’s Convenient Wife by Ruby Dixon, I hoped this would be just as entertaining. But the writing style is very stiff and descriptive.

Lmao, this book has a strong start.
“Hello, I’m Fucyu,” The guy cut in.
He couldn’t have come up with a better name 😂 I actually cackled.

so one guy shows up and says he's going on the tour with her and she's like "fuck no" and then the other guy comes and says THE EXACT SAME THING and she's like "omg daddy yes"

'A pleasant tingling, swooping sensation flitted through her stomach. He was so handsome in a dangerous, action-adventure movie star kinda way. She just wanted to lean in and run her hands all over his hard abs.'
