Ohhhhh Wang. You foolish fool. Cool that he fell in love with his land and just needed to be freed of his idleness but it seems that with all the financial commitments he’s made he’s almost as much of a slave as he ever was. And what with his shit son, leeching raiding uncle, and not to mention the two women in the inner court.
I see no happy ending for our guy

He defends his little fool in this chapter and at the end it almost seems like his one true love is the land?
I struggle to understand this character and I wonder about the purpose of humans. His is the good earth?

Just shameful for his reaction to being caught being- “I’ll buy her for myself!”
The rules surrounding shame and propriety within the scope of a patriarchal system are nonsensical and evil
