A newborn could have told this heroine it would end badly…. Perhaps not this epically badly but still quite badly.

Tell me why nearly a quarter of the way in, this heroine is trying to do THE MOST to rescue a relationship where she has been cheated on multiple times in an obvious way, betrayed etc AND she has resources and support AND advice AND knows better… this plot arc of the heroine’s bad previous relationship is dragging too long and it’s not a good look for the rest of the book.

This just turned into nonsense. It honestly made no sense for Jayda to go back to LA just because she broke up with Kamal. None of the later portion of this book was entertaining. It irked my soul how poorly written scene transitions were. And it was even more annoying how contradictory information kept popping up. Just a 3 for me.

This book just turned terrible. It just feels like I’m reading a bunch of scenes just thrown together. She really needs to work on her transition game.

One thing I don’t like about this book is that there’s no setup for certain things that happen. Like one moment Kamal is on the phone with Jayda miles from her home and the next moment she’s suddenly there with no explanation. The lack of transitions is sloppy.
