Status Updates From Everything Harder Than Ever...

This is a book I didn't know I needed to read. I harbour a lot of shame about losing years of my life to depression & drugs, but have increasingly come to realise that much of what once burdened me has started, now that I have it under my control, to be highly desirable & helpful. This book has shown me how others have reclaimed their lives in similar, & similarly extreme, ways, which has been very reassuring.

Fascinating. After reading Dennis Cooper's 'The Sluts', a novel about extreme sadomasochism and the desire to disfigure and murder someone during sex, I read in here a chapter on BDSM in which a professional dominant confesses that someone people do actually hire him expecting him to help them die.

A lot of studies mentioned off hand in the intro that I wish were in a references section at the back of the book.
