This is a comfort re-read on a cold, damp Friday with my husband out of town. I think I should have gone with something fluffier. It's kinda bumming me out.

WOW! This book is more intense than I thought. My eyes are misting up right now. Kevin, you're such a sweetheart.

Homophobia is OTT. Everyone hates gays except friends. Cops say it's his word against guy who put him in hosp & won't allow restraining order. (he was nearly dead). Nurse in hospital said to his face in front of witnesses that fags like him deserve it. She would be fired if only because lawsuits. Such shock tactics make people not understand systemic homophobia. It's unrealistic in a big city with big gay community.

This is so bad. Info dumps galore. Fearful MC1 reveals gobs to new bf in third date. On 2nd date, MC2 opens envelope slipped under MC1s door while MC1 is in the other room, and MC1 is fine with it. After second date, MC1s best friend tells MC2 all about the abuse w/o talking to MC1 first and MC1 isn't mad. Every outfit and hairdo girl has in every scene told IN DETAIL but we are almost never told what others wear.

My heart is breaking and I want to murder Josh. Am I allowed to say that I want to kill a fictitious character?

Editing`s not the best but it seems like I finally found a book where the author takes the topic of the darker side of BDSM,domestic violence and stalking seriously.Not as an excuse to write a sappy,unrealistic romance.I`m impressed.
