Finished with the main story! Only to end on a cliffhanger that pushes you into the second book, and possibly the third. I loved that this book didn’t feel like it was rushing you into the next event, and everything felt very well-paced on the author’s part. I absolutely LOVED the scenes in the woods where Niles finds out about Zharya and of course the ball for the King’s birthday.

They made it to Nevira (the capital city) and met Prince Lorrin’s friend, Niles who’s also a trouble maker. We also got introduced to the “someone sinister” through their actions so that’s nice. So far the book is good, and I like all the characters. Excited to see what’s next!

The Asali were nice (as expected) and we met a new character: the prince talked about on the back of the book, named Lorrin. First impressions were good, he seems to be a curious person with a good heart — and he doesn’t hate dragons!

Only a few chapters in and am already hooked. I’m interested to see how Elinta’s interaction with the Asali go, but they seem nice so far. You know who else seems nice? Blaine, Elinta’s brother — we love to see a supportive sibling. Hopefully the book gives us more of their sibling interactions!

I think it's so good so far! I love all the little adventures they are having along the way to the capital. I think it's so cute how Zhayra and Elinta's bond is growing and how they are becoming such good friends! I am so excited to see if they can live in the world together without having to worry about each other's safety.

It's good so far, the action started pretty fast. I'm excited to read more!
