Finished with the main story! Only to end on a cliffhanger that pushes you into the second book, and possibly the third. I loved that this book didn’t feel like it was rushing you into the next event, and everything felt very well-paced on the author’s part. I absolutely LOVED the scenes in the woods where Niles finds out about Zharya and of course the ball for the King’s birthday.

They made it to Nevira (the capital city) and met Prince Lorrin’s friend, Niles who’s also a trouble maker. We also got introduced to the “someone sinister” through their actions so that’s nice. So far the book is good, and I like all the characters. Excited to see what’s next!

The Asali were nice (as expected) and we met a new character: the prince talked about on the back of the book, named Lorrin. First impressions were good, he seems to be a curious person with a good heart — and he doesn’t hate dragons!
