Page 30. Second paragraph; Sophie had a particular finance for first lines. They were so ladenwith potential. My thoughts; I like the first line in a book because just like Sophie, the character in the book that first line does have potential.
For example; it is a truth, universally acknowledge, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be won’t of a wife, the first line in pride and prejudice

I was prepared to hate this book, but it started to. Grab my attention. The books, the romance, the letters. Not sure where we are going with this story; but I am on the bibliophile team and willing to overlook the audacity of alternating chapters and the presumption of making Jane a character.
