Author doesn't know Arizona very well. Story supposedly takes place around Tombstone, which is an area with scrub desert. Kade and Kelsey take Trent's son "fishing" in an area with "pine and juniper trees." So unless they drove at least a couple hours north--either to the mountains near Tucson or even further up to Prescott--there's no way they'd find a lake, pine and juniper trees.
